Have you got 221g ? Please post your experience .

Visa office asked me 

 

Who is my employer?

How long you been with your employer ?

He asked about my family and what do they do ?

He asked me about my education ?

He asked me for my LCA, pay stubs & Client letter.

After 15 minute interview, he gave me white 221g and told me it might take a day or two more than regular processing time (5 business days for regular processing)

 

He kept my passport, client letter, I797 & LCA

 

If anybody with the same situation please can contact me

I requested for a status update yesterday, i received this from the consulate today. Does anybody know how long the 221g process takes. My interview was on 14th and they kept my passport, LCA, client letter and I797.


 


 


Your case is undergoing review. Unfortunately we cannot give an accurate timeline on how long this will take. At this time we do not need any further documents from you. Should you wish to collect your passport, you may return any business day between 11:30am – Noon. (excluding US and Canadian holidays and 3rd Wednesday of every month).


 


We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the nonimmigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S. Nonetheless, the Consulate General in Vancouver, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing.  While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate General and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as the review is complete.

Hi NaveenKumar,

I was issued 221g from Vancouver US consulate and I have been waiting from a month and No update yet. Do you know how long will it take. When were you issued 221g? I sent an email to US consulate and didn't get any reply yet. Do you have any idea how many days will 221g processing take? Did you talk to anyone who was issues 221g in vancouver recently?

i appeared my interview on 28th Dec 2016 and initially VO approved my visa and gave the handbook of employee rights and how to track my passport form. The following day I received a email requesting additional documents of my I-129 and petition letter and any RFE that been issued prior to petition approved by USCIS. I submitted my documents on 29th Dec 2016. Since then there is no update. I am still waiting to hear back from them.

I haven't spoke to anyone with same situation. Please let me know if you hear anything from them.
