Going to India on Short term disability/medical leave with a Valid H1B

Folks

I am planning to go to India in a few days for treatment on a Short Term Disability /Medical leave provided by my company. I have a valid H1b Visa . I would like to know how long I can safely be in India (getting treated) without jeopardizing my visa status. My Short Term disability plan provides me job protection while on leave but visa issue is a grey area. I'm planning on to be there for 1-2 months. Any pointers/feedback is highly appreciated.
