DOS processing time

Hi Friends,

 

(1) My J1 wiver application is with DOS (after receiving all the required documents) for the past 15 days. What is the usual processing time DOS take ?

 

(2) They have used one of my two envelopes when they requested a document from me. I did not send another envelope for return serivce.  Do I have to send one more envelope now?.

 

Please suggest me.

Regarding your questions

 

1) DOS processing times varies. Typically they take 2 weeks but in my case they took 3.5 weeks but as i say it varies. Check this website especially devoted for DOS and USCIS processing times. http://www.********************

 

2) Normally one has to send 2 envelopes to DOS, this is because one will be used by DOS and another one will be by USCIS but what i noticed is that DOS only uses 1 envelope and USCIS (they send two letters - final one is your waiver) uses their own envelope.

Thank you Upendra_35.  DOS sent a favorable recommendation to USCIS. Now waiting for USCIS response.
