dream! Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I came to US and started working on 10th July for company A and unfortunately the contract has been shortened to 2 months. I started trying for contract to hire opportunities and got a project with a reputed client. A consultancy company B is ready to do my h1 transfer and take me as a W2 contractor. As I have been working with company A only for 1 month, I dont have the paystubs for the duration till now because of the delay in joining formalities (Applying for SSN and getting the SSN number, creating a bank account and getting cheque book which is required to complete the joining formalities) only after which I will be entered in the payroll. As company B is going to start the H1 transfer process, will the absence of paystubs be a showstopper? Will it be risky to resign from company A now?
jairichi Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 First of all the rule of thumb is do not join another employer till your H1B petition is approved. Avoid multiple layers in work. Joining a consultancy is always risky as you might end up getting RFE and chances of denial are high. Look for a direct employer.
