H1-B extension/renewal stamping

I have an H1-B stamp valid until August 2014. I was in India for the past 8 months and now we are moving back to the US. I have a job offer already and they are applying for a 3 year H1-B extension based on an approved un-revoked I-140. Once I get the I-797, can I just travel or do I need to stamp since the employer is different? If I do have to stamp, it will be simply visa renewal, is that correct?

If your H1 visa is still valid and entering as h1 employee, then you don't need new visa.
