H1 Visa 6 years validity

Hi,

 

I have stayed 2 years in US on H1 visa from 2007 to 2009 and then took 18 months break and went back to India. I again came to US in 2011 with a new petition.

 

Do I have 6 more years from 2011 in my H1?

what was your validity on your earlier petition? I believe you should have 6 yrs of H1 from 2011.

If your employer had filed a cap subject H1B petition in 2011 then you get 6 years. If the H1B petition was a cap exempt one then you would get remainder of 4 years
