Quest99
I applied for n-600 for my minor daughter when I applied for n-400 for myself as per the suggestion of a rep from uscis call center.my app is approved but her's is denied as I wasn't citizen at the time of her app.but the notice says I can appeal with I-290b. I'm not sure whether I should do that or apply for new n-600 or apply for passport.does she neeed this certificate for college or a passport is good enough to proove that she is a citizen? JoeF
Your first mistake was listening to a "rep" from USCIS. You have to be a US citizen to file an N-600. And, it is pretty much a waste of money. You can apply for a US passport for your child. A US passport is proof of US citizenship. Link to comment
