H1B renewal and transfer at the same time?

My H1B visa expires on 30 sep 2013 and is up for renewal. My employer has filed for LCA and once that gets approved, he will submit h1 Extn papers. In the meanwhile I m talking to another company for h1 transfer. So it is possible that both h1 Extn and h1 transfer applications are filed at same time. Can this create a problem? It cause rejection of one or both applications?
