delay in F1 visa administrative processing, OPT F1 status nearing end

My F1 visa under OPT is pending admin processing since last 36 days. As they say, they do not allow any query  until 60 days. My question is "What do they tell after 60 days? Do they tell, how many days are still left. Does anyone have any experience?"

 

I am asking since I have the option of getting H1 visa; my employer is ready to file it. Also, sometimes admin processing goes on for months, with no reply: if that happens my OPT F1 status itself will expire and F1 visa would be of no use, even if it comes.

 

Can you tell other options/suggestions. I will be thankful to you.

How is he going to file H1B when the cap for this year has reached long back?

H1B quota has been met. Selection in April 2014 filings allow start Oct 2014.

H1 for this year is filled, so now H1 at this moment

 

Getting F1 visa during the OPT is very risky. Since OPT is given after the graduation and F1 is for student program, so applying for F1 visa after graduation doesn't make sense.

My employer is a research institute in US, so they can file H1 any time and are exempt from that H1 limit. I hold a PhD.

Then go for H1. I think in your case F1 is gone.
