Got RFE for H-1. F-1 and OPT expired

I got a RFE for my H-1 application and it is still pending. My OPT and F-1 got expired after I applied for H-1. I applied for Fall semester to two colleges. My plan is to study full time, if my H-1 application gets rejected. Would my H-1 application be void or canceled if I get a I-20 from any one of the colleges and do I need to apply for a new F-1 visa if I join the college since my F-1 visa expired.

if you are planning to apply for F1..then why do you care if H1 gets approved or denied.

Getting F1 after filing H1 is little bit risky.
