F1 CPT to H1

Hi, I got my H1B petition approved this year. Currently on F1 CPT. Travelling to India and returning before Oct 1. Should I go for H1B stamping before returning? Will I have port of entry issues?

Yes, since your H1 starts on Oct 1st you have to.

 

BTW when you have a H1 job, why did you applied for F1 CPT??

Are you entering based on CPT or H1B? If H1B then you need to have a H1B visa stamped

^{I got this job while in school and the employer filed for my H1 this year.}

^{I will be entering as an F1 student again as it is way before Oct 1. COS is from Oct 1 only as you know.}
