housesandfog
I have applied a j1-waiver based on no objection in Nov 2012, and then I did received a recommendation from DOS on Jan 16 2013. However, I haven't received an actual waiver from USCIS (now is July 24 2013). My question is.. in my case, does DOS file with USCIS on my behalf? Or Do I Still need to apply with the USCIS to get an actual waiver? If DOS did file on my behalf, how can i find out my USCIS case number? I called DOS, but DOS said my case is closed, and the person gave me an email address but the email address was un-deliverable. Link to comment
jairichi
If you have filled a DS-3035 application and there is a favorable recommendation from DOS they would send USCIS a copy of their recommendation letter to make a final decision. You would also get a copy of DOS letter. Normally USCIS will send you a letter containing receipt number of waiver petition. Link to comment
housesandfog
Thanks. I was wondering if I can somehow find out my receipt number? I moved twice after I sent out the DOS application.. so maybe the mail did come to me but i didn't receive it. How can I request USCIS to send me my receipt number to my new address? for example, can I write a letter to them with my copy of the waiver recommendation? Link to comment
jairichi
I do not know how to go about this. You should have informed USCIS about your change in address or USPS to forward all incoming mails to your old address. I am sure you would have got your waiver.Try calling USCIS, quote your case number and explain your situation Link to comment
jassi1239
Call USCIS customer service at 1-800-375-5283. They must have a way to find receipt number and application status. Link to comment
