jad
Hi, Please advice me on my situation. I have a H1B approved NOT from my current employer but a prospective employer(a consultant). Right now he/she is trying to place me on a project. In case things dont work out as planned between me and my prospective employer and if he/she cannot honour his offer on H1B start date, How can i make sure I am not in status violations of my current F1-OPT status(17 month extension expires on oct 31st,2013)? t75
He has to pay you even if he does not place you on a project. If you knew that he would not pay you unless you were on a project, you knew that your employer was disreputable and decided to take the risk and join. Link to comment

I don't understand how did USCIS approved the petition without a job. Link to comment
wiweq
"I don't understand how did USCIS approved the petition without a job." => USCIS never approves an H1b without a job. If they did it, it questions the authenticity of employer. Link to comment
