Visa interview while prior visa's 221g case is still in admin processing

Hi All,

 

On 2nd April i have appeared for a visa interview. Any my case was put on 221g (pink slip). Its been more than 3 months noting has progressed. My case is still under admin processing.

 

Meanwhile my I-797 validity will get expire in next few weeks, Hence my employer has extended my 797A and sent me extended I-797B.

 

My attorney has advised me to reappear for a visa stamping (with my family) with the extended I-797B.

 

Logically i think it is correct.

 

But i just want to know does any one has reappeared for a visa interview while prior visa's 221g case is still in admin process.

 

If so what kind of question being asked by VO, is there any references to the old 221g?

Please share your experience with me, I will also be filling for extension by mid August.

I believe you can update consulate with your new I797B. Also, if you want to appear for another interview you would have to withdraw your initial H1B application
