Urgent: Laid off

Hi,

One of my friend is getting lay off on 31-Jul-2013(wednesday) and she has got an offer from another company and the H1B is also transferred from the new offer. The only concern is, the new employer is asking to start on next Monday i.e 05-Aug-2013. So my friend will be without payroll for two days(08/01, 08/02). Is that putting her in "out of status" or is that going to cause any issues in future H1B/GC application.
