Visitor visa to Canada in Washington DC consulate

I am planning to apply visitor visa to Canada in person at Washington DC.

The website states passport will have to be collected in person after submitting and processed. However not sure if passport will be returned on the same day or next day.

Can any one share how long will it take to get back the passport once approved.

As far as I know there are only two locations where you can get a Canadian tourist visa. New York and Los Angeles.

As per current situation it is taking more than 2 months to get the passport.

The Canadian embassy in Washington DC does not process visitor visa applications from general public. Only limited to US Federal Govt Employees. You can go to the NY embassy. The Passport will be sent back via mail and not handed back in person.

No , you can pick up the passport but that will not be the same day. You can have it shipped but then the timeframe totally varies.

1. You can pick up the passport after the visa is approved. However, if you live near to the consulate, then only you can pick it up. Else, they will return the passport by USPS return mail envelope.

2. Like h1b_queriess said, you can only get the visa from NY and Los Angeles Consulates.
