EAD expiring next week, renewal application submitted 1.5 months back

I am on a J2 EAD and my EAD is expiring next week. I have already submitted my renewal application 1.5 months back. I am done with the biometrics and my status on USCIS website shows as under review. So in case I do not receive the renewed EAD by next week, am I still eligible to work for my current employer. If yes for how long?

you cannot work unless you have EAD. Its suggested that one renews their EAD atleast 6 months prior.
