Travel on OPT

Hello,

 

I have a valid F1 visa till May, 2014. I'm currently on a STEM OPT and it's going to expire in December,2013.

I'm planning to visit India in the month of August and September. I have an approved H1 which will start from Oct 1st, 2013.  

I would be grateful If someone answers the below questions:-

 

1) Is it safe to travel in August and come back in September(I'm worried  as my H1B starts in october)

2) What kind of questions they will ask in the port of entry.

3) After coming back in September, do I have to apply for change of status as I will get a new I94 and my H1 would be on my old I94.
