SundarH1B Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 HiI'm on F-1 student visa at this time.I'm on (H1B rejection) grace period right now that ends July 14. I have obtained admission in a school for Fall 2013 and my old school had submitted a request to reactivate my SEVIS record and the request is still pending. My question is, should I obtain active status and have the sevis transferred to the new school before the end of the grace period date? Or is it OK to wait beyond my grace period in case my Sevis status continues to wait for activation?I would appreciate any information regarding this.Thank you.
cosf2tof1 Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Hi, I don't understand your exact question but this wil help: I had same experience like you, I applied for h1 but didn't get picked up so I applied for fall 2013 . In my case my opt extension expires Nov. but I requested to my previous univ for sevis transfer to new school . they transfered scheduled sevis record july end so my opt valid only by that time. It's better to contact for your old school and request for sevis ASAP. Thanks,
SundarH1B Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Hi Thanks for writing. Could you please respond to my post titled "Post-OPT legal status after H1B rejection and Fall 2013 school admission (pending SEVIS reactivation & new I-20 issuance)" May be this gives a better understanding of my situation.
