Passport expires next year, will the new stamp be only for 1 year ?

Hi All,

 

I am thinking about going for H1B stamping. My H1 status is valid till 2015

However my passport expires in May 2014.

 

Now if I go for stamping, will they just give a stamp till May 2014 or will be be for till valid H1 status (June 2015) ?

they will give visa only till May 2014. Why would anyone give visa beyond passport expiry date?

my passport is going to expire in 2014 oct, and my h1 is until 2016 sep, I went for stamping got visa until 2016. So visa is not depend on ur passport it is completely depends on your I797.  you will get visa stamping until 2015.

My passport expires on may 2014....I got h1 stamped till sep 2015 ....Dont worry....
