In US on B-1 want to bring my wife on B-2 for short term

Hello,

 

I recently got married in India and came to US on B-1 visa for Training purpose. Now, I want to bring my wife to US so that we two we can spend sometime together before we both return to India. Please note that I tried to bring her along with me only but her B-2 got denied stating "She did not convince the counslate as she is planning to visit for almost 8 weeks". this happened in Mid of May, 2013.

 

Now, I am plaaning to bring for s short duration of say 2-3 weeks and then she can return back later either with me or alone.

 

Please suggest what are the challenges am I going to face and what are the things which we need to take care of and be prepared of? Any suggestions/help will be truly appreciable.

your wife would get B1/B2 on her own merits..you do not get involved in this.

Thanks for your prompt response. What I needed to get an understanding was does she need to take care of any specific things again as she has already got a denial on 1st instance.

make sure she convinces the VO that she'll return back to her home country after this visit and not stay back in the US to search for jobs.

I think you can try again. You got to try another time. The first year of marriage never comes back again. No harm in saying to the consular officer that your wife wants to be with you for a vacation. I think the consulate officer will understand.
