Can I use old H4 visa after H1 expires

Hi,

 

I finished my 6 yrs on H1 Visa and applied for H4 Visa.

I received H4 visa valid for 8 months.

Later I applied for H1 again for recapturing the vacation time (3 months).

Now I have received the H1 Visa but only for 3 weeks instead of 3 months.

 

I have not joined the company/project on this new H1 Visa.

 

Do I have to apply for the H4 visa again after my H1 visa expires?

 

Can I use my previous H4 Visa and stay legally in USA?

Please do not use the word visa when you mean petition. If you are not in valid H1 status you need to change your status to H4 status...I-539  USCIS website or by leaving and coming back on the H4 visa you have.
