Father's Passport been lost with valid B1 Visa

HI,

My dad lost his passport in india having a valid B1/B2 visa. Now I am planning of bringing him back to US. Now he got new passport but no VISA. Does he have to go and attend the interview again or is there any other way where he can get his visa.
