arthiramesh Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Hi, I am an Indian passport holder, came into the US in Oct 2012 on L2 with an I94 valid till March 2013.. My status changed from L2 to H4 and my I94 has been extended till March 2014 now. I am planning to visit Chennai (India) in sep 2013 and will need to get my passport stamped for my H4. I have booked my tickets from Chicago transiting via London to Chennai by the British airways and return the same route. I am not sure if I need to have a transit UK visa - the UK border agency website talks about Direct Air side Transit visa (DATV). I am not sure if Indian nationals will need to take this ?? Can someone help ?
omshiv Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 If you have a Valid Unexipired US Visa stamped on your Passport, you do not require UK Transit Visa.
arthiramesh Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Thanks a lot for the reply. The Visa stamp on my passport was as L2 and it was valid till March 2013 so it is no longer valid. I have my valid H4 visa document and new I94 with March 2014 validity though. Do I still qualify ?
omshiv Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I believe it wouldnt work..I mean if you have the Petition 797, that wouldnt do. You might have to have a Transit Visa...atleast that was the case couple of yrs back when I travelled. I would ask the Airlines.
