Unable to get SSN because of wrong Visa status update to B2 instead H1B

Hi,

      I have arrived US in April first week and went to apply for SSN number after 15 days but i was told my visa status is updated as B1 instead of H1B and asked me to wait for 4 weeks until they get response from DHS.

 

After 5 weeks i got a mail saying DHS unable to verify my Status and hence SSN is denied.

 

When visited SSN office  i was told to visit USCIS office and at USCIS office i was directed to CBP.

Its already been more than 15 days but still the change is not done ,i am following up the CBP guys.

 

Can anyone please guide on this . Is it worth again visiting SSN office ?.
