The interview lasted only for 5 mins, the CO took my passport and gave me a blue slip indicating that my petition is currently not in PIMS database and my processing will be suspended until they verify my petition details. CO didn't gibe me any timlines and she told me that my passport will be couriered back..can you please help me the following questions? 1) how long does it take for PIMS verification and what happenes in the background? 2) Is there any way I can expedite this process? 3) Can i assume that my visa is approved since the CO took my passport? 4) how to check the current status of my case? Please help me.. Thanks, Vivek Link to comment
Attorney_10
Generally, it may take up to 1-2 weeks for the PIMS database to be updated with your H1B approval information. In addition to requesting PIMS verification, the DOS may also be conducting background or security checks during this time. Link to comment
