jaiho1905 Posted June 2, 2013 Report Posted June 2, 2013 I was working as a postdoc in J1. Due to severe illness I had to quit and come back to India. Can I get H4 without J1 waiver? If so, after going to US as H4 can I switch to H1B when I receive my J1 waiver. I have the No Objection Letters ready but not sure how to apply from India for the waiver. Any input/recent experience will be really helpful. Thanks.
jassi1239 Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 If it has been 2 years in India, you dont need waiver. But, if its not then you need waiver before you apply for H4.
