Darshan666
Hello All, My name is Darshan and I have a query regarding the first time stamping of my H1B visa. I came to the USA in Jan 2006 and completed my 1st masters in Dec 2007. I was working at Company A from OCT 1 2008 (That's when my H1b started ... Validity was 3 years). I rejoined school (Converted back to F1 status) in May 2010 and continued with my second Master's degree. In April 2012, Company B applied for my H1B under the old quota itself..i.e. they did not file for a new petition, but made use of the old petition itself. I was approved for 1 year (which I guess is the remainder of the period left from earlier). Company B has now applied for my renewal of the H1B visa and I am expecting the approval for the same in a few weeks. My questions to all are as below: 1. Can I get my stamping done in Toronto, CA? My education in the US is around 3.5 yrs, and work experience is around 3 yrs. 2. Is it a must to get the stamping done in the home country only? Have heard that it is not compulsory... 3. Since I have not traveled outside the US since dec 2007 and this is my first stamping, how is my case interpreted as? My H1B is a renewal as well as the stamping is a first time. I really appreciate any help in this regard Link to comment
