MyProfile Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 Hi all, I have applied for Canada visa to attend for H1-B stamping. while applying for Canada visa i've set purpose of travel as 'Visitor' instead of H1-B stamping and did not send them my I-797 but my Canada visa has been approved. Is that going to be a problem at the Canada port of entry because I've set the purpose as visitor even though my actual purpose is H1-B? Can I tell them that I'm attending for visa interview and show them my appointment letter? Is there any possible of being asked why I've applied for Canada visa as tourist instead of H1-B stamping?
Veera1 Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 You Just say you came for Visiting along with this Scheduled an appointment in US Consulate. That Should work.
omshiv Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 dont worry too much..you are good to go...if asked then say that you are for H1b interview and show the appt letter.

Because, Canada doesn't issue visa just for H1 stamping that's why you have applied for visiting visa.
StuckinOttawaApr17 Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 There will be No issue in going to Canada for you if you have a valid visitor visa and going for H1 stamping. Just show them the stamping appointment letter and other supporting docs as they ask and you would be good to go.
