mane Posted May 8, 2013 Report Posted May 8, 2013 Hi, I wanted to know if there is any rule that says we can't do work from home after certain days for tax purposes? Are there any rule imposed by IRS or one can WFH as long as company allows him? Do company have to show the employee as free lancer or what? Any response will be appreciated. Thanks
JoeF Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 No such rule...as long as the Client allows. There are of course tax implications, the OP may have to pay taxes in his home country. The OP and his employer should discuss this with a good CPA knowledgeable about international issues.
omshiv Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 There are of course tax implications, the OP may have to pay taxes in his home country. The OP and his employer should discuss this with a good CPA knowledgeable about international issues. For Tax related implications, yes. I was referring to the Rule which OP was referring to whether he can work outside US for any time period. So there is no such rule...as long as the Employer/Client allows you can work abroad..but you do have to pay taxes in the US.
