Employment reference letter Canadian visit visa

Hi,

I am planning for stamping in Ottawa. When i was reading the list of documents it was shocking to see that you need to provide employment ref letters from both employers if you have changed employers in last 2 years. Current employment ref letter is fine. But I dnt want to ask mu previous employer regarding this. Any alternatives ? Please suggest me...
