H1B visa - Bachelor of arts degree and experience in IT

Hi,

I have 3 years Bachelor of arts (English literature) degree from recognised Indian university and 3.5 years of experience in IT (Software testing and SAP security) in India. I do not have any work experience in US. Currently Im in H4 (dependent) visa.

Can I apply for H1 visa. Since my degree(English literature) is not related to the IT work experience, will that be an issue while filing H1B visa. Will there be any issues in meeting the criteria for educational evaluation for H1B visa. I do see that 3 yrs of work experience will be considered as 1 yr (for the degree), but still will it be an issue since the work experience and degree are not related.

For an H1, you have to have the equivalent of a 4-year US bachelor degree in the field.

Since you don't have an IT-related degree, you can't get an H1 in an IT field.

There should be m any questions about your qualifications. Get real - English lit and IT .... No wonder there are so many problems with H1B
