Should Resign or be terminated

Hi,

The situation is being US hire US based IT company has given 6 weeks to search job after coming to bench and if not allocated to any Onsite project then company will terminate. Due to exhausting H1 period in another 4 weeks, company is not ready to place in the Onsite Project.

In this situation one should resign or get terminated?

Will the termination create negative impact while searching job back in India?

In my personal opinion, Job termination is no different than resigning from the job in the US. Everybody understand, people get sacked/fired for all kind of reasons. No negative impact on anything.

You can decide whatever you feel comfortable with. Termination is no worse than resignation.

First of all, the important thing: do they pay you on bench?

Second, on H1, if you get laid off, the company by law has to pay for your flight back to your home country, if you wish to go back. If you resign, there is no such requirement.
