Most recent petition/application receipt number.

Hi,

My company is filing for my H1B renewal. My 6yrs in H1b is over and since I have my I-140 approved, my employer is filing for my next 3 years H1B. While filing 1-129 my HR had a question. In I-129 there is a question which states 'Provide the most recent petition/application receipt number for the beneficiary'

What should we provide here, I-140 receipt number or I-797 approval's receipt number. In my case I-140 was approved recently.

Please advice.

They need to provide I-140. How come ur HR department is not working with an immigration attorney on this. The couple thousand spent to have a qualified lawyer file your paperwork will go a long way.
