dreamgc1728 Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Hello, I am a MBBS graduate, currently second year resident in medicine. I was wondering if I could get my LC started. I have heard it is possible but wanted your opinion Thank you
Attorney_11 Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Assuming that the individual noncitizen physician has been offered a full time permanent position for which they are currently qualified, a Labor Certification could be commenced even when the individual noncitizen physician is completing their residency. Of course, each case is different and personalized advice would be advisable by consulting with a qualified immigration attorney.
futureeb2 Posted April 26, 2013 Report Posted April 26, 2013 Unfortunately, most positions require you to be Board Eligible. You cannot submit the PERM until you have met all the requirements for the job, including board eligibility. And you don't become BE until you finish residency (in most cases-combined residencies can have odd situations were you ebcome BE for one specialty before tthe other one).
