dreamgc1728 Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 Hello, I am a second year medicine resident on H1B and was wondering if I can start my labor certification/green card process now. I will be continuing to work even after residency in the same hospital. I spoke to the hospital lawyer and she was very positive that it could be done. I would like your opinion on this as well. Your responses are appreciated. Thank you.
Attorney_11 Posted April 18, 2013 Report Posted April 18, 2013 In many cases it is possible to start a Labor Certification process while an individual is completing a graduate medical education residency, however there may be some limitations and details to take into account. It may be advisable to contact the office of a qualified competent immigration attorney with knowledge of physician immigration to develop a personalized immigration strategy.
