Hi,

Thanks for your detailed explanation and it helps a lot. I am from Kerala and've attested documents from Indian consulate ready to send to India. I have few things to ask.

1.  What is the best way to send documents to Govt. of Kerala, TVM? I got the following address online. Is there a specific person you have to address?

Home Department

Secretary to the Government of Kerala

Home (G) Department

Secretariat

Thiruvanathapuram

Kerala, India- 695 00

2. What are the documents to send along with the attested affidavit? I am planning to place a cover letter in all 3 envelopes. Do I need copies of passport/academic certificates etc?

3. How I get the NORI return? Do I need to keep a self-addressed pre-paid envelope or the offices send everything to my address?

Thanks in advance!

(1) You can not address to any specific person but only to a department.

(2) Along with cover letter it is better to include your degree certificates, copy of passport, visa, resume, etc.

(3) Normally they would send No Objection Certificate (NOC) directly to embassy and would send you a copy. Sending you a copy depends.

Hi,

I am also in this J1-waiver procedure. I have the NORI forms attested and need to send them to India. I am from Keral. I understand that 2 of these attested forms need to go to the Kerala Home Department and Regional Passport office in Cochin.

I am interested to know the procedure at these State offices. The above threads mention that relatives helped and that multiple phone calls were made. I do not have anyone to help me so I plan to go there and submit the papers in person. After submitting the documents, how do we know they are processing on our documents - what are they supposed to do with it and how must I ensure that they are doing it. Must I go there and check with them every week or would they ask me to come another day?

Please enlighten.
