F1 Expired , OPT still ther, H1B applied , what are the odds for travel

Hi

My Girl Friend has done her M.S in a Medical University , her course was for 1 year , so she got F1 only for 1year stamping , Here are the Dates ,

F1 visa :- august 2011- sep 2012

OPT started :- sep 2 nd 2012

OPT exp :- sep 2nd 2013

OPT can be extended till feb 2014

Currently she has a Full time Job, The Employer has applied for VISA for FY2014 in advanced degree quota , As this time it is lottery , If Luck didn’t favour and she didn’t get her VISA ,

1. What Should she do , to continue her Career ??
   
2. Can she travel to India for Wedding Purpose , and come back before her OPT expires ??

1.Since opt can be ext till fab'2014, I guess she can apply for H1 next year using the CAP GAP I20

2.She needs F1 visa to enter into US, cannot enter just with OPT.

which visa are you on? if you are on H1..then file for H4 for your GF.

=> If found unlcuky and want to stay in USA, wait for next year's H1b quota.

• Can she travel to India for Wedding Purpose , and come back before her OPT expires ??
  

=> It's less likely that she will get F1 stamping on OPT as the main intent of F1 is done.
