Interesting Ask for Help - B2 Visa Renewal

Hello -

My parents have been to the US earlier as a tourist/B2 Visa 5 times and there visa is now up for renewal. They will need face to face interview as first visa was granted 11 years back. My mother wants to apply for renewal alone this time as my dad does not want to travel this year. Can someone help with this question for my mother -

Why are u applying alone? -- Can she say - My husband does not intend to travel this year and has commitments at home?

My mother wants to come just for 2.5 months. Can she apply for the interview alone? Any other help will be greatly appreciated.

i dont see any issues in that..as that would also give a valid reason to go back because of her spouse.
