pjparekh
I am currently employed at a company in the US on H1-B. I have been doing some charitable activities and very interested in starting a 501©3 non-profit organization, so that I can have a legal non-profit entity and seek donations from others for the charitable cause. Myself and other board members will work on completely voluntary basis; and will not receive any compensation and will not financially benefit in any way. This can also be stated in the incorporation documents and by-laws during 501©3 incorporation. We will also not hire anyone else. It will just be the volunteer board of directors. We just need a legal non-profit entity to carry out our charitable activities and seek donations. Is this possible if I am currently employed on H1-B? Thanks. Link to comment
