rajkumar_469 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Hello, My current H1B visa is valid for September 30th and i already have VISA stamped till September 30th. I am planning for my wedding in August and i would like to extend my VISA before i go to wedding. I'll return back to US in September first week or second week. but i am not interested to attend VISA stamping interview in INDIA. I would like to go to stamping in Canada. Do i have any problems in port of entry if my extension got approved and didn't have stamping extension? i would like to return to USA before my current VISA stamping expires (Sep 30th). Once i return to USA i'll go to canada for VISA stamping interview later. Please advice me and let me know if you require any additional details. Thanks, Raj
Guy_H1B Posted March 16, 2013 Report Posted March 16, 2013 I was in the same situation as you. I entered just 11 days before my visa was going to expire but I had my H1 extension with me. So at port of entry I showed to the officer the new extension even before she asked about it and she entered the date in I-94 as mentioned in my H1 extension. Make sure you get the H1 extension before you travel.
