H1B stamping (while in India) sponsored by Company B (US based), while employed by Company A (in India)

Hi Everyone,

I am currently based in India and also working for Company A in India. Can I go for H1B interview and stamping for a Company B (which only has offices in USA), all the while being on the rolls of Company A?

My plan is that if the stamping is successful, then I will resign from Company A (in India) and travel to the USA on the H1B to join Company B.

Is this possible? Or will I have to first join a Company in India who is willing to sponsor my H1.?
