H4 Transfer required?

I have recently filled for my H1B transfer and H4 transfer for my wife.

My wife is planning to visit my home country some time soon.

I want to know is it required for her to be in USA till the H4 transfer process is completed or she can go to India even when the application is pending.

She is having a I94 which is valid till Sep 2015.

There's actually no such thing as an H-4 transfer. Also, the H-4 extension application will not affect her ability to travel. She will need an unexpired H-4 visa in her passport plus your new H-1B approval notice when she re-enters the US. If she needs a new visa (looks like she doesn't), she'll need to get it based on your H-1B approval notice. She will not be able to use H-4 extension approval for that.
