Current COS (H1B-H4) Processing Times

Friends -

Has anyone applied for COS (H1B-H4) in Jan/Feb this Year? If Yes can you please help me with the below questions?

I see that the USCIS website still shows the processing times as of Dec 31st 2012. Not sure if the process has picked up recently as it is almost 2+ months past the date posted there.

- The latest processing times. Has anyone saw any approvals on the COS earlier than 2+ months?

- How long does it usually take to get a receipt from USCIS once we mail the paper application? (I have noticed that we can no longer e-file the I-539 for H1B-H4)

I filed for H1B to H4 cos on Feb7, Got receipt dated Feb11.

Approved on March4 and approval received on March5

Could you please mind sharing the below information as well-

- Did you file your application online or was it through mail as I see that currently, for H1 B to H4 COS application, we can no longer file it online starting Feb 28 2013?

- Can you let me know how long did it take for you to get the actual receipt by mail?

- Did you request any custom start date for your H4 or was your H4 start date the default date of the H4 approval notice.

1. I mailed it by USPS express mail

2. Receipt notice is dated Feb 11. Receipt notice was mailed to me on Feb14/15

(saw it from postal stamp)

3. No custom start date was asked

My wife H-1B visa expires on 9/22/2013 and I want to apply for COS to H4 based on my H-1B petition. My old H-1B expires on 10/19/2013 and applied for H-1B renewal recently  got approval till 10/18/2016. This new 797 will say H-1B approved from 10/20/2013 to 10/19/2016.

 

Please advise on below questions.

1. On I-539 application part 3 -> Question 1 -> should I put date as 10/19/13 (or) 10/18/2016 ?

1. On I-539 application part 3 -> Question 2 -> what do I answer

2. On I-539 application part 3 -> Question 3 -> what do I answer

3. On I-539 application part 3 -> Question 4 -> If I give my new receipt#, then will they give her H4 based on my H1 dates 10/20/2013 to 10/19/2016, then she will be out of status from 9/22/2013 to 10/19/2013.

 

What do you suggest ? Please help me.

1. Put  10/18/2016.

1  your Extension is granted right? You have to answer "yes"

2  you answer "No" 

3. you don't fill #4 

 

Attach both I-797's.  They will give you H4 starting from the day they approve it till your last day on H1B
