I moved to India about 2 years back after quitting company A and didn't completely use my time on the previous H1B. I have 2 years left on my previous H1B. Company A must have withdrawn their H1B petition when I quit.

Company B in US is filing for a fresh H1-B for me and then I can start in october. Once the new H1B is approved, can company B file another petition to extend the previous H1-B so I can work in US from now till Sep 30?

If you use any H1B time before Oct 1, 2013, you may only work for the remainder of the first 6 years. A new H1B to get 6 years would be voided. If you want 6 years, you start on Oc1 only
