Can I update DS160 with a new receipt# after visa extension?

Friends,

My current H1B petition is valid till 10/13. I want to take an apt for visa stamping during May. My extension will be applied under premium processing in April, and I expect to get a 3 yr extension due to an approved I140.

If I wait till after the visa extension approval, I might not get the expected visa apt dates. Hence can I take an apt with the current I797 and later update DS160 with the new I797 receipt# once I get the extension? If not, what are my options?

if u didnt submit ur application, i think u can change it..or better fill a new ds 160 application and update the ds160 number in date scheduling website...

Can you please help to answer my questions?

1) I scheduled an appointment with old ds160 conf number and realiszed that it had incorrect information? Now Can I edit this conf number to new ds 160 conf number in personal info section with out re-scheduling my appointment.

2)Can I aslo edit my petition number and receipt dates with out re-scheudling my appointment or do I need to re-schedule my appoint ment to make this changes apply? Or editing this information is not

at all possible.

Please help me out...
