221g - Options and Questions

Hi All

Appeared for H1B interview and got 221g. I was not given any colored slip and was only given a single page document asking for some additional docs about the project. The case now shows to be in Admin Processing on the consulate website. They did keep the passport and the original I-797.

1. Location: New Delhi

2. Date: 19th Feb

3. Date of submission of additional docs: 21st Feb

Questions I have,

1. What is the earliest I can expect the case to be updated. It still shows to be last updated on 20th Feb. The site says most cases are resolved in 60 days. Is it the case and general trend?

2. There is a manually entered case number on the 221g sheet given to me. Is that number tracked anywhere?

3. Since the passport is with them...is it still possible to get the visa transferred?

I would really appreciate your responses.

hi we cant expect the time frame. i am also on same boat with you i submitted my docs on 9th jan untill now no update. there is no particular time frame

On 8th March, there was an update on the case and today (11th March) it is showing as Issued. Does it mean that the VISA is actually issued?
