pyerragunta
I got my h1 visa stamped from employerA with clientA in dec 2012. My assignment with clientA has finished and am looking for new assignment, at the same time planning to change to employerB. Do I have to go for stamping again, if I change my employer? All help appreciated. Thanks! --PY Link to comment
Mysterion
You don't need a new visa! At POE the IO issues the i-94 validity based upon the Visa expiration date (visa that you had with employerA). Since they are not aware of your new i-797(employerB) which has new i-94 expiration dates -- which is current before you leave to India. So you can keep quite at the POE(if they let you) and change it later at some airport near by with your (employerB) i-94. (This time they will write a correction sentence on the backside of your i-94). Or at POE just pass your new i-797 along with your old Visa, so they issue the i-94 based on the (employerB) i-94 exp dates. Its the i-94 validity that matters your legal stay in US. Link to comment
