research/ph.d/new delhi/white slip/biology/tal/ 221(g) and is it oke to interview on another visa?

Hi,

I interviewed New Delhi embassy for H-1B visa after holding J-1 visa for 5 years as research scientist.

The interviewer asked only 3 questions:

a) where are you going to work

ans: named the bioinformatics lab

b) what was your phd. in

ans: databases

c) I couldn't hear this question very carefully but it was about why bio informatics after a databae phd.

I tried explaining my research experience but I don't think she paid attention.

I was duly handed over a 221(g) white slip and told to respond through email. I have done so. I am not sure what is the purpose security check, just interview gone bad, etc. and also don't know how long it may take for them to respond.

I have two request. If someone is in similar boat (research/ph.d/new delhi/white slip/biology/tal/) etc. please share your experience.

I also have an O-1 work visa with another software firm. Is it oke to schedule interview for another one while the H-1B is in administrative processing?
