when is it better to go for stamping after extension

here is my friend's situation...

he got h1 visa approved only for one year...his h1 started in oct 1, 2012...which is valid till sep 30, 2013..

he wanted to apply extension in april 2013 in premium....if he get approved for another 3 years....which would be valid till sep 30, 2016....

if he goes for stamping in june or july 2013....till what time does he get his passport stamped if he goes with new i797 which is valid till sep 30, 2016????

will he get stamped till sept 30, 2013 or sep 30, 2016..????

if he goes with new i797 valid till 30-sep-2016, the visa will also be till the end date on i797. best to check with an attorney and also if stamping locn is india, your friend may qualify for interview waiver.

f1 stamping was done in canada in india, sometime 4 years ago....currently h1 stamping is yet to be planned...thinking to go to canada....once his extn approves

I heard the stamping can be done 60 days before the start date...but not sure abt the extension...
